August 24th-27th: Mixed Messages, Lost Loves, and the Warrior In You
Monday August 24th we immediately begin with mixed
and sometimes aggressive messages; Mercury in its own sign of Virgo
squares Mars in Gemini, and it’ll be a miracle if anyone can resist
the temptation to let it all out–and along with this, whether we
intend it or not, flows our ideas about action and ego, and especially
those that have been thwarted, and these come out in anger,
assertiveness, or a pounding away at ‘the facts’ to try and prove our
point. This is an aspect for a lot of expression, but not much
listening–winners set aside their own frustrations and need to make a
point in order to hear and observe how others really feel. Much of
this may be driven by a need to feel we’re moving forward (Merc trine
North Node, Mars quincunx NN) so consciousness of our own needs and
goals can go a long way toward assisting Self-control.
Venus conjuncts Vesta and the South Node in Cancer
(trine a very late Libra Moon mid-morning PDT). We may be heavily
sentimental, the past taking on not just a rosy glow but an aura of the
sacred. The compulsive may try to re-open the past, or perhaps recreate
it, and it could bring some awkward moments as the present clashes with
what was. A few may actually try to re-unite with a lost love and under
this aspect the other person may likely feel the same–just remember that
this is a temporary influence, and once the rosy glow fades . . . you’re
left looking at the same person (you weren’t with) as before. The
conscious among us will enjoy the memories and know that these individuals
and circumstances are in the past for a reason–best use may be in making
us remember how precious certain things and people were in our past, as
the unsentimental types among us tend to diminish the worth of past
relationships and events, and now we get a pleasant reminder.
The Sun is still within trine of Pluto, both in Earth,
allowing us to see where in our material circumstances change,
preparation, or transformation are yet needed, and Saturn is just
beginning to pull away from trine with Sedna, which will allow us to
notice certain realities that were obscured before. With Jupiter still in
a long-term square to Sedna, what we’re missing seems enormous–you just
have to remind yourself that, if you can’t tell what’s missing, how do you
know how big it should be?
By noon on Monday PDT (12:16 PM precisely) the Moon
moves into Scorpio; the very brief Void feels like just a hiccup (or is it
hiccough?) in our day, but the Moon change of sign does make us more
willing to plunge into heavier (and possibly more disruptive) matters.
Tuesday the 25th Mars moves into Cancer. This is always
a rough spot for Mars; he has to take feelings into account, and
that hampers pure will and the need to act, while the ego is continually
faced with the call to care about what it wants and does–jeesh!
This can make for ongoing frustration for those strongly attuned to
Mars–for the rest of us it can mean passive-aggressive tactics come to the
fore, or we see the warrior who kills with kindness, or the ’smother love’
of those who genuinely care, but who are very very aggressive about it.
The Scorpio Moon will trine Mars, oppose Pluto, then
quincunx Juno and finally sextile Pallas, and this suggests a cascade of
emotional upset and anger that challenges each to find an empowerment
foothold, then finally brings us to some kind of wise conclusion. Today
Mercury is also at 29 degrees of Virgo, and so even more stressed than
previously–take care as what’s blurted out today may cause real damage.
The Venus/ Vesta/ South Node combination perfects at 28
degrees Cancer today–this should mark the most intense point of the
connection to the past–expect the sentimental feelings to quickly fade
from here (though they may leave behind a nice reassessment and renewed
appreciation for the ‘old days’).
Wednesday sees Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Pluto all at
00 degrees of their respective signs. The effect of this is a sense of
‘newness’–not to be mistaken for a license to throw out the past, or a
reason to pretend you don’t know what you do. The Sun quincunxes Juno at
this point, and the challenge is to know who you are, and own your own
power, without shunning responsibility or looking for a fight in the
process. Vesta at 29 degrees Cancer may add to the push to be pugnacious,
as we may believe what’s sacred, the home, or the sex life, needs
defending–if we respond this way what we should know is that it’s our need
to be a warrior at present that makes us want to see something as needing
defense–a perspective that should allow you to lay down your arms. Before
days end PDT Venus moves into Leo and there’s an odd sense of relief in
being able to put your attention on yourself once again.
The Moon enters Sagittarius at 8:16 PM PDT, while
feeling and intensity relax a little and the need to act (Fire) bumps up
once again. This comes to the fore Thursday as early in the day PDT the
Moon squares the Sun and the feelings spark against the identity–we’re
looking to start a fire, whether we know it or not. Mercury moves into
Libra and gets passive-aggressive, but also more diplomatic and
partner-oriented, especially if we have dealt well with our aggressive
needs.
